Real Impact: The Story of Kyambadde Samson Mukiibi
From the Brickyards to a Bachelor's Degree
The story of Kyambadde Samson Mukiibi is one of profound transformation. It is a living testimony of what happens when a community refuses to let a child slip through the cracks, choosing instead to lift them up, nurture their talents, and provide them with the tools to build a lasting future.
A Childhood in the Kirobe
Samson's journey did not begin in a classroom. Growing up, his parents struggled with deep poverty and simply could not afford to continue paying for his education after he finished Primary 7. To help his parents survive, Samson went to work.
At just seven years old, he found himself working in the Kirobe—the local village brickyards—doing grueling manual labor, digging clay, and laying bricks under the hot sun. He was a young boy roaming the village, standing on the edge of a life that could have easily been lost to the streets.
Welcomed by the Balanced Life Family
God, however, had a very different plan for Samson. His life took a miraculous turn when he joined the Mata Soccer Academy, an initiative run by The Balanced Life Family to keep vulnerable youth off the streets. Through the academy, he was officially welcomed into the loving arms of the Balanced Life Family organization.

The late Jajja Baby (Samali Lwasa) took him in and raised him as her own. From that moment, BLF became his true family. They provided him with a safe place to sleep, food to eat, medical care when he was sick, and the unconditional love he needed to thrive.
The Power of a Sponsor
Samson's educational journey was completely resurrected thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors who saw his potential. He extends his deepest gratitude to Eng. Leonardo Kiba, who paid his school fees, and Eng. Ronald Lwasa, who sponsored his tuition. With their financial support and BLF providing for his everyday needs, Samson successfully completed his O-Level and A-Level secondary education.
"I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support you have given me," Samson says to his funders. "From food to celebrations at the home, you have shown me true family love. Your generosity goes beyond finances—you have given me belonging. Thank you all for exercising your vision through me."
A Star on the Pitch
While his mind was being sharpened in the classroom, his talent was being nurtured on the football pitch. Through the Mata Soccer Academy, Samson pursued his deep passion for soccer. He grew into an incredibly talented player, competing for clubs like Manyangwa FC, playing for Buganda regional teams, and eventually playing for his university.
His dedication to the sport reached a new pinnacle in 2025 when he won a major championship with his team, FBM. This victory stands as a testament to his hard work, teamwork, and the relentless spirit he developed over the years.

His relentless drive is evident in his rigorous training routines. Whether he is running drills or practicing with teams like the Red Ants, Samson approaches every moment on the field with the same determination that helped him overcome his early struggles. Even during his high school years, he was already making a name for himself, balancing his studies with playing soccer for World Ahead Senior Secondary School in Matuga.

Brotherhood and Giving Back
During his time growing up at BLF, Samson met his best friend and brother in Christ, Mathew Sekanjako. Sharing similar backgrounds of hardship and manual labor, the two formed an unbreakable bond. Today, they stand together as testaments to the life-changing power of the organization.

Samson is also deeply committed to giving back to the community that raised him. He is frequently seen working alongside other BLF students, participating in initiatives like the 2021 Jajja Baby Run to raise awareness and support for the vulnerable in Uganda.
Graduating into Greatness
Today, the boy who once laid bricks in the village is a thriving young adult. In 2026, Samson will graduate from Victoria University with a Bachelor's degree in International Business. He has already begun his professional work placement, stepping confidently into the corporate world as a hardworking, visionary young man.
